9 April 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 9th [April 1873]. Grau came & asked if I had the bottle & hearing I had not he rushed off for it & brought it in triumph. I had sent to ask Sr Ruiz Gomez to come to consult what was to be done, he came & advised me to do nothing beyond keeping my property. Later came the Mariana & I explained what had happened & she told me she had received the bottle from another “corredora” & she would take Giovanni to see her. At 4 Henry & I took a ride. Just before dinner Mme Mendes Leal called. | |
