11 May 1873 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 11th May [1873]. Put on summer gown for the first time. Wrote & recd letters from Blanche. At 3 Clarita came to see me. At 5½ we went for a drive & took a walk in the Retiro & a turn in the Fuente but abt 6½ there was a regular mist of dust & damp rising & we were glad to get home. Col Fitch, Count Maffei & Mr Gayangos dined with us. I played the harmonium in the evening. | |
