18 May 1873 — Madrid
Sunday. 18th [May 1873]. I got up late with a toothache. Palmaroli came to see me. He talks of going to Paris next month to take his pictures to Goussil. Henry & I went out walking but the wind was very cold & it was unpleasant. We called on the Comyns & found them in. They talk of going to England this summer to take the eldest boy to school. We went on to the Ettlings & saw her– He is still ill & won’t see any one—on our return home we had a visit from Mme Mendes Leal who came to see & talk of lace. We had Ruiz Gomez, Nicholas, Mr Austin &c to dinner.
