25 June 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 25th [June 1873]. I worked away at my screen to try & get it finished but after all had to pack it before quite complete as I had to do some copying for Henry. After lunch I went with Mrs Beale to the dentist abt my face wh was however better. The de la Rochefoucaulds, Clarita & Mr Bernar came to take leave of us & at the moment of starting Mrs & Miss Sickles; we dined at 6½ & left by the ½ past 8 train for Zaragoza & a good many people came to see us off & Llorente & Nicholas gave us a compartment to ourselves. | |
