Thursday. 10th [July 1873]. Henry & I went to call on Mrs Austen & lunched at home as Maria came up & we went out shopping together. We dined with the Burrs. Sir J. Lacaita took me in to dinner & I sat between him & the Squire. We met the La Croix—the Alwyne Comptons &c. We went to Lady Wm Russells in the eveng met the Master of Napier’s father & mother & saw Lady A. Russell & I. de Peyronnet. | |
