Monday. 28th [July 1873]. Packed in morning & went down to Canford by 2.15 train for the fêtes on the occasion of the christening of Ivor’s boy—wh was yesterday—found Maria & Rd, Connie & Charlie, Kemble & Austin, Mrs Clark, Arthur, Mr & Lady Louisa Ponsonby, Mr & Lady Louisa & Miss Spencer, Mr Martin. We got there abt 5 a lovely day & every one in the cricket field where a match was going on. | |
