14 August 1873 — Orton Hall, nr. Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Thursday. 14th [August 1873]. I sat with Gracie while she was packing & wrote some letters. Just before lunch Felicia arrived having driven over Dr & Mrs Weblin. They lunched at Orton & we took a stroll in the garden & got our ½ pwrth out of Dr Weblin by consulting him all round. When they were gone Aunt Mary drove me into Peterboro in the poney carriage having borrowed the butchers’ poney as a pair to her own. Tea in the schoolroom & heard the parrot talk.
