6 September 1873 — Blackheath
Saturday. 6th [September 1873]. We left Blackheath soon after 11 & went to Langham Hse then we packed & lunched & started for Eastnor by 2.15 train. It was a very crowded train & we had difficulty even in taking our tickets. It was a very shaky train & I was very tired by the time we arrived (after time) at Ledbury station at 7½– The carriage met us– Found only Mr Cheney staying here. Went to bed early.
