2 October 1873 — Bordeaux | |
Thursday. 2nd October [1873]. Left by 8. train for Bayonne– There was such a full train that we had great difficulty in getting places & had to get into a carriage with 2 gentlemen who wanted to keep the carriage to themselves– Met Mr Haggart at the station who came by this train & is going to stop a few hours at Bordeaux before coming on to Bayonne. We had a very hot journey & arrived at Bayonne abt 12. Mr Graham met us– No ship had arrived to fetch us. Took a drive to Bar & back– Mr Haggart came in the eveng. | |
