9 November 1873 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 9th [November 1873]. Did not feel well so did not go to church– Wrote letters & recd one from Arthur. After lunch we took a walk—called on the Koudriaffskys. He is ill again & Hy went to his room to see him. We then went to the Sickles where I had a rencontre with Lindstrand who was also calling & who was very impertinent to me because he thinks Henry ought to have called on him. Ruiz Gomez, Palmaroli, Maffei, Derings, Haggart, Robbins dined. | |
