23 December 1873 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 23rd [December 1873]. Lesson of Inzenga– Note from Clarita saying Mr Hunt is worse & she has sent for Dr. After lunch I went to see her to ask what the Dr said. She said he had said that he thought badly of him & that he must leave all work for 3 months or he might go out of his mind. I went & fetched Emilia & we went shopping getting Christmas presents &c & I came home at 5. We played backgammon after dinner & I played the harmonium. | |
