10 January 1874 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 10th [January 1874]. Ch: H. came to copy & I & Henry translated. Went out driving & agreed to meet Henry in Fuente– I met Emilia in the street & picked her up, we walked in Fuente till we met Henry. Emilia went to pay a visit & we came home. After dinner we went to the Presidencia to see Serrano & the Dss—found the room full of people—ladies with the most extraordinary gets up & appearances. We did not stay late. | |
