5 February 1874 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 5th [February 1874]. I painted all the morning. Just before lunch Miss Bentley came with a lady to ask for her character—a daughter of Col Barry’s of Alicante who wants a governess for a friend. Henry & I drove & walked in the Fuente. Genl Concha called. Old Mme Aylton called to settle about our taking Louise & Bernadine to the Canitz which we did. Pleasant eveng talking Spanish to Llorente, Ponton & Campiesano. | |
