11 February 1874 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 11th [February 1874]. I breakfasted in bed & was not up when Aurelie came to play duetts with me but I dressed in 5 minutes & we played Mozart &c till 1 when she went away. Henry rode. I did not go out but painted at a little after 4 it was so dark that I had to give it up. I read 1st vol of Mérimées Lettres à une inconnue.” Was obliged to go to bed directly after dinner with a headache. | |
