12 February 1874 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 12th February [1874]. Got up late. Brehm came & prescribed for me & Hill. Lesson of Esquivel. I went at 3 to fetch Missie & from there to the Canitz to see some friends dresses that were to be sold as she has gone into mourning. We then went to Bachs where I found a fan I liked. Henry who was passing by joined us & we all went home together. Missie taught me Piquet & had tea. Mr Lasky called & I showed him my fans. Mr Aylton called. We had our usual music but they did not play very well especially a trio of Schumanns of which they made a great hash. | |
