9 March 1874 — Madrid | |
Monday. 9th [March 1874]. Our 5th wedding day. I did not get up till late. Brehm called. I wrote a lot of letters & did not go out at all. Henry rode out to see the Review of the reserves but found it had been put off. The Saavedras, Riaños, Canitz, Albareda &c came in the evening & I ended by playing a game of besique with Mr O’Connor & went to bed late– Emilia brought me a bit of rose point wh I bought. It was a shirt of a “niño Jesus.” | |
