10 March 1874 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 10th [March 1874]. Got up after breakfast. Mr Hamilton came to call having returned this morng from the south. I spent all the morning unpacking & arranging the lace shirt. Henry went to Quesadas. I drove & went to see Mme Bauer & found her in. Went afterwards to see Mme San Carlos & found her also. She showed me her house she has some new cabinets & pictures. I then went to the Presidencia. Found the Dss dressing & stayed with her some time. Came home at 5. The Riaños dined with us at 7½ & at ¼ to 9 Aurelie called for me & we went to Mirecki’s concert. Henry & Riaños followed. There was quite a crush at the concert but it was very dull & uninteresting. We did not stay it all out. | |
