16 March 1874 — Madrid | |
Monday. 16th March [1874]. Painted all the morning & arranged summer garments with Hill preparatory to a trip we propose to take to the South. I went out driving to leave cards on Mme Montijo as it is the Prince Imperial’s birthday & to meet Henry in Fuente. The sun was very hot. Post came in & I heard from Kate. Received in the eveng Bauers, Silvelas, Vernouillets & a few whist players came. I went to bed with a headache. | |
