24 March 1874 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 24th [March 1874]. Painted all the morning. Mr Saurin came to take leave as he is going on a little holiday. Esquivel gave me lesson. I went out at 4—went to fetch Emilia & took her out driving. It was a hot day. We drove in the Fuente. After dinner we went to Lindstrandts where there was whist & with Mr OConnor’s help I played whist again with Aurelie Maffei & some of the secretaries—my 2nd attempt. | |
