26 March 1874 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 26th [March 1874]. Lesson of Esquivel. I had rather a headache all day. I went out at 3 & went to call on the Dss de la Torre & found she was ill in bed with worry & anxiety. I went on to fetch Emilia Riaño & Mme Ocaña & took them for a drive but the day was a most unpleasant one as the wind was high & cold & the dust blinding. The Riaños dined with us & we had our usual musical party afterwards & a great many people came but as the evening went on my head got worse & worse and I had to go to bed & leave them all. | |
