29 April 1874 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 29th [April 1874]. I went out in the brougham in the morning & fetched Emilia to go shopping with me, we went to see Mariquilla & she said she would go with us so we managed to squeeze in all three & we went to Escobars & bought stuff for summer gowns & I got some white damask to make an evening gown. I did not go out again– Mrs MacD. came to call with her little boy. I got a headache & so had to go & lie down till dinner time—we afterwards then went to the Presidencia where I presented Mrs MacD. & then Henry & I went on to the Bauers. | |
