27 May 1874 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 27th May [1874]. Mme Bernar sent me some flowers and Hill & I spent some time putting them up. Painted. Mirecki came to see me. Went out driving & took a turn in the Retiro. We met the Duke of Fernan Nuñez walking. Came home early. The Duke & Dss de la Torre, the Ulloas, Bernars, Sr de los Santos Alvarez, Maffei, Monteverde & Count Hatzfeldt, the new German Minister, dined with us. After dinner Mirecki & Beck & the Hunts came & we had some music. The Serranos left early. | |
