5 June 1874 — Madrid | |
Friday. 5th [June 1874]. It was a dark rainy day & could not paint. Wrote & worked & practised. We went out for a drive & took a walk in the Retiro. In the evening the Canitz’, Maffei, Cohen, Lindstrand came to play whist. The Hunts had dined with us. Clarita went home early. Mr Hunt stayed & played whist with Maffei, Aurelie & me– There was a thunderstorm going on all the evening– | |
