22 June 1874 — Madrid | |
Monday. 22nd June [1874]. Packed & arranged things in the morning. Mrs MacDonells baby came to see me– In the afternoon came Mirecki & Jabat the Vernouillets – Carnide – Cohen – Major Hall– Pedrorena called & afterwards the Bernars. I fetched Mrs MacDonell to take her out at 5½ & went to the dentists but he kept me more than an hour & it was past 7 when I returned to poor Mrs MacDonell & then I had to take her home. On arriving at home, I found Henry just going to start for a walk so I accompanied him & we went round the Plaza Oriente & returned for dinner– Early to bed. | |
