30 June 1874 — Paris | |
Tuesday. 30th June [1874]. We went in the morning to see the Alsace Lorraine Exhibition where there are some fine enamels china pictures &c. Some of the best things belonging to the Rothschilds had been withdrawn. After lunch I went out with Hill to the Bon Marché. We went to dine with Le Croix & then met Palmaroli. Before dinner we went up to see Mme Le Croix’s studio. She has there a portrait she is doing of her niece—a ceiling she is painting for the drawing room &c &c We met at dinner Mr Le Croix’s brother the member Mr Lambert LeCroix, his wife & daughter & had a very pleasant evening. | |
