12 July 1874 — Langham House, Portland Place | |
Sunday. 12th [July 1874]. Went to Haweis church with Blanche & Adeline. After lunch drove down to Blackheath. Found Fred & his 3 boys there & were afterwards joined by Capt & Miss Louisa Jones, & Mr Payne. We dined at 7 & had a very pleasant party. After dinner we drove to Roehampton to stay with Maria—met Miss Maxwell there– Saw the comet beautifully– It is now on the wane– Slept at Ex. Hse. | |
