23 July 1874 — Venice | |
Thursday. 23rd [July 1874]. Went to the Lido in the morning as yesterday but after lunch I laid down for an hour & dressed afterwards. Henry & Giovanni went to the Murano to see the glass blowing & I stayed at home & painted. While the waiter was pulling up the awning he managed to let the iron bar fall right on my head. Luckily it did me no injury. Piazza after dinner. | |
