3 August 1874 — Venice
Monday. 3rd [August 1874]. Henry went to bathe. I stayed in bed & got up later & then sent for Dr Richetti. At 1.30 Mr Brown called and at 2 we went off to Murano to meet Pss Vidoni & the Soranzos & to show them the glass blowing. The Pss & elder Soranzo went with Henry & Abbate Zanetti to see the churches & Museum & left 2 little girls Carmelita & Alba under my care & I had to amuse them till the others returned. We were back at 6. I painted & had lesson. After dinner Henry paid Css Marcello a visit & then returned to fetch me & took me out in the gondola. There was a thunderstorm in the night.
