7 August 1874 — Venice | |
Friday. 7th [August 1874]. We got up early & as usual went to the Lido both of us as Henry was all right. At 2 Castellani fetched Henry & they went to Murano. I stayed in & wrote & painted all the afternoon. At 5 the old man came for my lesson & we finished my copy of the picture of Cook’s Mr Brown lent me—the Salute at Sunset. We went to Florians to take ices after dinner & after a row to leave Cook’s picture at Mr Browns. | |
