26 August 1874 — Venice | |
Wednesday. 26th August [1874]. Did not go & bathe. Henry went with Mr Brown to poor Sir Wm Perry’s funeral. I stayed some time talking with Cortellazzo. I painted. On Henrys return we had lunch. Mme Marcello called. We went [to] Sta Caterina to see the Paul Veronica wh is down for someone to copy & then we called on Mr Brown & went home & I painted till dinner time. In the evening we went to Mme Marcellos. It rained as we came home. | |
