12 September 1874 — Milton Court, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Saturday. 12th [September 1874]. Painted in the morning. In the afternoon there came over a good many people to tea. Sir Benjamin & Lady Brodie with 2 daughters, Lady Eastlake & a young lady. Old Boxall came down from London to spend Sunday also Mr J. Stewart. While we were at dinner Lady Gordon arrived– In the middle of that meal I was taken ill & had to leave table—nothing much. | |
