13 September 1874 — Milton Court, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Sunday. 13th [September 1874]. Spent all the morning painting with Lady Gordon & in the evening walked to Dorking to church with Alice & Mr Rate & came home to late dinner. The church was the highest not actually R.C I ever saw. There were 7 lights hanging before the communion table—& a large cross over the chancel screen &c &c– | |
