17 January 1875 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 17th January [1875]. Copied for Henry. At 3 we went for a walk. Called on Emilia Riaño & found D. Juan had come back from Granada. We went on to Mme Canelaux. Found a good many people calling & got home abt 5. Had a visit from Mmes Greindl & Koudriaffsky & gave them tea. M. & Mme d’Antas, Phipps, Col Riley & Mr Thomas (landscape gardener) Gallenga, Aug. Sala, Monteverde, Maffei dined. We expected Ponton but hedid not arrive. | |
