21 January 1875 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 21st [January 1875]. Esquivel gave me a lesson. In the afternoon Henry & I went to the dentist—he prepared my tooth for stopping & stopped one for Henry. From there I went to see if Emilia would go out with me. I found her at her door starting with her father & child. I persuaded her to go with me & we took the boy too. We drove up to the Atocha & back. Went to Mariquilla’s & borrowed the body of her dress. Stayed at home & played backgammon in the eveng. At 5 the Dss de la Torre came to see me & afterwards Mme Ulloa. | |
