25 January 1875 — Madrid | |
Monday. 25th [January 1875]. The messenger arrived being rather behind hand on acct of the night trains between Saragoza & here being stopped as the railway officials will not work at night for fear of the Carlists. I got a good many letters. We went out riding abt 3. Went to the Retiro. It was quite a spring day. Received as usual; not many ladies came. | |
