Sunday. 18th [April 1875]. It was a showery day. I copied a despatch for Henry. Did not go out. In the eveng we had the Canelaux, Miss Sullivan, the messenger Leeds, Genl Concha, Ruiz Gomez, Alvareda to dine with us. In the eveng we went to Montijo’s where there were a good many people. It was excessively hot there & coming away Henry caught a fresh cold. There were rumours of a Ministerial crisis on acct of one of the Ministers wishing to raise a militia– | |
