20 April 1875 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 20th [April 1875]. Henry still obliged to stay in. I drove out alone & took a turn in the Retiro. Then I met Mme Canelaux & Broutelles & got out & walked with them. Mme C would insisted upon picking roses & the guard seeing her naturally objected. We had no money to pay so I made her return the flowers wh she was very unwilling to do. | |
