29 April 1875 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 29th [April 1875]. Had a headache & stayed in bed all day but got up for dinner. The Riaños, Hunts, Monasterio, Mirecki, Beck & Ct Murphy dined with us & we had music in the eveng. Monasterio sent for his violin & they played one of Beethoven’s trios most beautifully. I never heard Monasterio play so well or so well accompanied. They played till 12. | |
