30 April 1875 — Madrid | |
Friday. 30th [April 1875]. I was not very well & did not care to paint so I worked instead. Mrs Phipps who returned on Wedy from Seville called & just as we were going out came Ludolf. We met him on the steps. We fetched Emilia & took a charming walk in the Retiro in the unfrequented parts. Mme d’Antas called to ask me to join their party to the Alameda tomorrow wh I declined– I played & sang in the eveng. | |
