Saturday. 5th [June 1875]. We had a busy day unpacking & arranging. Mr Brown came to see us. Mr Alex Malcolm came & we had a great talk over housematters & settled the wages of the gondoliers 2¾ lire a day for Caetano & 2½ for the 2nd Pietro the latter to sleep in the house. | |
