13 July 1875 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 13th [July 1875]. When we got to Favorita we found it was cold & the sea rough. In fact it was difficult to stand & impossible to swim against wind & tide. At 2 I was starting to pay some visits when Brown came I sent him in to see Henry & went on to see Pss Clary whom I found at home. I invited her to go with us tomorrow but she excused herself. Css Mocenigo could not receive me so I wrote & invited her. Went to paint & R Madrazo was there. After dinner we went to see Css Marcello but she was out so went to the Piazza– Met the Fratelli Malcolm & walked with them & later went to the Css to make sure abt our party of tomorrow. | |
