15 July 1875 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 15th [July 1875]. Went to Favorita to bathe. Captain Solly came & breakfasted with us & went away soon after. I read & rested after. Henry went with Mr R Brown to see an old collection of books to be sold. Capt. Iago came to take leave of us as they start tomorrow to join the Admiral 40 miles from Trieste. It was cloudy & I cd not paint. Went to return cards & to Salviati’s. After dinner to Piazza, met the Malcolms. Home early. | |
