17 July 1875 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 17th [July 1875]. The storm had so changed the weather that it was rainy all day & we could not go to bathe. Countess Marcello came to breakfast at 11. All day long the weather was threatening & there were now & then violent storms of rain. We managed to get out in the afternoon & left some cards—went to Salviati’s & to buy photos of our house at Naya’s. In the eveng sang & read aloud to Henry. | |
