7 August 1875 — London | |
Saturday. 7th August [1875]. I went out driving in the afternoon, fetched the M at the needlework art school & drove with her leaving cards &c. We went to see Connie who was at home with the children & Adelines children were there. Had to go home early to dress to go to dine with the John Murrays at Wimbledon. We called for Mr Fergusson en route & took him with us. We got there pretty early & walked in the garden. It had been raining when we left London but there had not been a drop of rain at Wimbledon. it was hot & storm– Met a Profr & Mrs Thomson, Mr & Lady Rose Weigall, Mr & Miss Holland. A little music in the eveng. At dinner sat between Mr Weigall & Fergusson. Drove the latter home. | |
