20 August 1875 — Aldermaston Court, Aldermaston, Berkshire | |
Friday. 20th [August 1875]. Sat with Mrs Burr. After lunch we left & drove to Basingstoke to catch the train for Wareham to get [to] Bere to stay with Monty. At Wareham we met Adeline also going there from Charmouth. We had to drive 5 miles. Found Bere was a tiny cottage with drawing room dining room & kitchen on ground floor & 3 bed rooms on 1st floor & that is all. Monty had put up & furnished a nice tent in garden & there we sat after dinner. | |
