3 September 1875 — Shipton Grange, nr. Tunbridge, Kent | |
Friday. 3rd [September 1875]. A Pouring wet day & the place was too melancholy. We left directly after lunch & went to Tunbridge where I met Mrs Austin (late Miss Kemble) who came to meet me from T. Wells & spend an hour. We went to Dorking by Redhill & got to Milton Court abt 6 oclock to stay with the Rates—took a walk. | |
