13 September 1875 — Langham House, Portland Place | |
Monday. 13th September [1875]. Left for Walmer by 11 train with the M & S who are also going there on a visit. Got there abt 2. We had luncheon & then I drove into Deal with the M & S & Lady Granville. It was blowing hard & was very dusty & unpleasant. Coming home we met Mr Leveson Gower & his son & Sir J. Lacaita who are come to stop at Walmer. We had tea out in the garden & afterwards took a turn with Lady G. the M & Mr Gullerton. In the eveng there was whist & I sang. | |
