8 January 1876 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 8th [January 1876]. Very cold day. Went out driving in the afternoon with Henry– It began to snow a little but nothing to signify. We called on Css Montijo & found she was in bed with a cold– Went on to the Dss of Fernan Nunez & saw her & the Duke. Henry got out in the Calle Alcala & walked home. I went to see Emilia. Met there Count Morphy. On getting home I found the Vicomte de Poix calling & he had tea with us. Intended to have gone in the eveng to the Bauers but found it too cold to stir out. | |
