22 February 1876 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 22nd [February 1876]. Esquivel gave me a lesson. Painted till 3 & then went out driving with Henry. The day was wonderfully fine & it was even hot. We took a walk in the Buen Retiro. Abt 6 Emilia Riaño & Mariquilla called & M. de Poix also. We ladies were just going to retire & have a talk on dress when Mme Hatzfeldt & her little girl Nelly came & I gave them tea & then gave Nelly some painting materials. It appears that altho’ only 11 she is clever at drawing. | |
