17 March 1876 — Madrid | |
Friday. 17th [March 1876]. Painted all morng. Enter Genl Milans del Bosch with a letter from Mme Ratazzi to Henry complaining of his conduct & a long rigmarole abt yesterday. Henry wrote an answer saying he did not wish to be rude to any lady but that the places were ours. Paid some visits in the afternoon & returned home early. Nelly begged me to put her to bed tonight & to hear her prayers which I did. | |
